Naeem Rehman from Burghfield Common faces serious stalking charge
A MAN has been sent to the crown court on a serious stalking charge.
Naeem Rehman appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 24.
The 33-year-old, of Brocas Road, Burghfield Common, is charged with stalking Samantha Baines, thereby causing her serious harm or distress, in the Thames Valley between May 1 and June 23.
Mr Rehman is said to have done so by repeatedly attending her address which he knew, or ought to have known, amounted to stalking her.
He is further accused of possessing the Class B-controlled drug cannabis in the Reading postal region on June 22.
Mr Rehman, who was legally represented by Sucheta Rose and spoke only to confirm his details, was told the case was being sent to be heard by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury sitting at Reading Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
Mr Rehman was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
