Darren Brown from Newbury locked up on harassment charges




A MAN accused of breaching a restraining order and carrying a knife has been sent to the crown court in custody.

Darren Brown appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, May 25.

The 44-year-old, of Northway, Newbury, faces charges of harassing Karen Finn last month, May, in breach of a restraining order.

In addition, Mr Brown is accused of having a bread knife in public without lawful excuse in Silver Street, Reading, on Friday, May 24.

Magistrates sent the case to to be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury at Reading Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

Mr Brown was meanwhile denied bail and was remanded in custody.
