Man found dead at Greenham Mill is named





He was Nigel Thornley, aged 50, who did not have a permanent address but who was living in Newbury.
His body was pulled from the canal on Monday (22).
Police had been called to Greenham Mill at the junction of Bone Lane just before 2pm after being alerted by a resident.
The body was recovered from the canal at around 5.10pm by a specialist police search and rescue team.
The area surrounding the canal was blocked off all afternoon as police, fire crews and the water rescue units retrieved his body.
Earlier in the afternoon, the police helicopter was spotted circling the area.
However, Thames Valley Police have said they are not looking for anyone in relation to the incident.
