Body discovered at Thatcham's Nature Discovery Centre, Thames Valley Police confirm




The body of a man has been discovered at Thatcham's Nature Discovery Centre this morning (Thursday).

Thames Valley Police has confirmed that the man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene, after officers were called to a fear for welfare report just after 4.30am.

The death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious.

The man's next of kin has been informed and a file will now be prepared for the coroner, a spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said.

They added: "Thames Valley Police were called today, along with the ambulance at about 4.35am to Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre following reports of a fear for welfare.

"Officers attended but sadly, a man in his thirties was pronounced dead at the scene.

"His death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious, and his next of kin has been informed.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner."

The Nature Discovery Centre will remain closed for the rest of today.

In a statement it said that its café, shop and toilets will remain closed all day due to a police incident overnight.

The centre has added that all car parks are also closed at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

A cordon was in place at the entrance to the Lower Way centre after the discovery this morning.
