Daniel Whittaker from Newbury guilty of possessing cocaine and racially motivated harassment




A MAN has been sentenced for a drunken, racist offence – and for possessing cocaine.

Daniel Whittaker appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 10.

The 40-year-old, of Villiers Way, Newbury, admitted being drunk and disorderly.

He further admitted a racially aggravated offence of causing harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour

Finally, Whittaker pleaded guilty to possessing the Class A-controlled drug cocaine.

All the offences were committed in Newbury on Sunday, February 25.

Magistrates made Whittaker subject to a 12-month conditional discharge.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge.

Finally, Whittaker was ordered to pay £200 compensation to the victim of the racially-motivated offence.
