Man has ear bitten during assault
The 21-year-old man and his friend were approached by a man and a woman as they walked across the bridge on the side of the Swan Hotel around 7.30pm on Saturday, January 11.
The offender grabbed the victim and placed him in a headlock before biting his ear.
No hospital treatment was required but he was left with a swollen ear.
The offender is described as white, about 5ft 8ins, in his forties, of slim to medium build, clean shaven, with short grey/black hair.
He was wearing a black zipped waterproof jacket and dark blue jeans.
The woman played no part in the assault.
A 41-year-old man from Streatley has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
He has been released on bail until February 14.
Police would like to speak to a man who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone else with information about the assault to call 101.
