Man in court over Newbury knifepoint robbery




The case has been referred to Reading Crown Court at a later date following the Coral bookmaker robbery last Tuesday (6)

A MAN appeared before Reading Magistrates' Court yesterday (Wednesday) charged with robbery following an incident at Wash Common bookmaker's Coral last Tuesday (6).

The 35-year-old man had been charged in connection with a raid at the Essex Street store during which staff were allegedly threatened with a large knife and cash was stolen from the till.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Reading Crown Court at a later date.
