Constantine Gurzun from Burghfield in custody after sex assault
A MAN has been locked up while awaiting sentence for sexual assault.
Constantine Gurzun appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, October 9.
The 48-year-old, whose address was given as The Hatchgate Inn, The Hatch, Burghfield, admitted touching a woman sexually in Reading on Monday, October 7, when she did not consent.
He further admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress and assaulting a female police officer by beating her, both on the same occasion.
District judge Samuel Goozee ordered pre-sentence reports.
He stipulated these should be prepared on an ‘all options’ basis and reserved his right to send the case to the crown court for sentencing should he feel his own powers of punishment were insufficient.
Gurzun, who was legally represented by Robert Slinn, was meanwhile denied bail and was remanded in custody.
