Newbury man Liam Reid in custody on Hungerford home burglary charge
TWO men charged with burgling a High Street home have been sent to the crown court in custody.
Christopher Kupiec and Liam Reid appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 29.
Forty-four-year-old Kupiec, from Hungerford, said to recently have been of no fixed address, and Reid, aged 28, from Newbury – also said to have recently been of no fixed address – were both charged with burgling a home in Hungerford High Street on Wednesday, August 27.
Reid was charged with intending to steal goods inside, while Kupiec is charged with stealing electrical goods, clothing and other property therein.
Reid is also accused of causing unnecessary suffering to a dog in his care in Hungerford on July 29.
Finally, he is charged with attempting to rob a man of his rucksack containing clothing and a phone charger in Newbury on Tuesday, August 26.
Magistrates declined further jurisdiction and sent the above matters to be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury sitting at Reading Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
Reid, who was legally represented by Max Riley-Gould, and Kupiec, represented by Simon Hammudi, were meanwhile denied bail and remanded in custody.
