The 26-year-old, who lives in a flat in Old Manor, Upper Lambourn, is accused of assaulting Jessica Crayton, thereby causing her actual bodily harm, in Upper Lambourn, on Thursday, May 23.

Mr Geraghty, who was legally represented by Martin Hennessy, was told the case was being sent to be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury sitting at Reading Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

He was meanwhile denied bail and was remanded in custody.
