Newbury man Brandon Dennis jailed for assault

A MAN has been jailed for assaulting a woman.

Brandon Dennis appeared in the dock on Thursday, January 30.

The Newbury 21-year-old, currently said to be of no fixed address, admitted assaulting Bayley Goulding by beating her in Thatcham on Saturday, January 4.

Dennis, who was legally represented by Robert Jacques, further admitted stealing meat worth £33 from Morrisons in Thatcham on the same occasion.

Dennis, who has previous convictions, was jailed for 48 weeks.

Magistrates said an immediate custodial sentence was necessary because he was subject to a suspended sentence order at the time he committed these latest offences.
