Thatcham man Daniel Black jailed for three-and-a-half years for Pelican Lane, in Newbury, burglary





A man has been jailed for three-and-a-half years for a burglary in Newbury last month.

Daniel Black, aged 45, of Westfield Road, Thatcham, was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of burglary at Reading Crown Court on Monday (September 18).

At around 3.20pm on August 14, Mr Black broke into an address in Pelican Lane and stole various items before leaving.

He was arrested on the same day and charged the following day.

Investigating officer PC Christopher Tayler said: “Thames Valley Police is committed to bringing burglars to justice as it is an incredibly invasive crime.

“Daniel Black’s sentencing will hopefully serve as a lesson to others who seek to commit burglaries that we will always look to put offenders before the courts.”
