Man killed on A339 this morning (Monday)




The 55-year-old from Hampshire was hit by a lorry and pronounced dead at the scene

A 55-YEAR-OLD man has been killed after being hit by an articulated lorry just outside Newbury this morning (Monday).

At about 3am police were called to the A339 near to the Aldern Bridge where the accident happened.

The man, from Waterlooville, Hampshire, was pronounced dead at the scene and police closed the road for more than three hours while officers investigated the cause.

The driver of the lorry was interviewed by police but was not arrested.
