Newbury man Aaron Birmingham obstructed Newbury drug search operation




A MAN is awaiting sentence for interfering in a police drugs search.

Aaron Birmingham appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 12.

The 35-year-old, of Poplar Place, Newbury, admitted obstructing police who were exercising their power to detain someone under Schedule 4 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

The incident happened at London Road, Newbury, on Thursday, August 24.

Magistrates adjourned sentencing until a later date.

Mr Birmingham, who was legally represented at the hearing by Heulwen Everton, was meanwhile released on unconditional bail.
