The 44-year-old, of Chestnut Walk, off Coldharbour Road in Hungerford, is charged with having a bladed article, namely, a kitchen knife, in public in Priory Road, Hungerford, on Tuesday, February 11.

A second charge, that of having a knife at Hungerford Town Football Club grounds, was withdrawn.

Magistrates declined further jurisdiction and sent the case to be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury, sitting at Reading Crown Court on a date to be fixed.

Mr Little was meanwhile released on bail on condition he does not enter the football club grounds and that he lives and sleeps at his home address.
