Reading Magistrates' Court: Purley man damaged car in Newbury

A MAN has been ordered to compensate a car owner for damaging his vehicle.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Monday, June 20, was Connor Smith.

The 22-year-old, of Lister Close, Purley, admitted damaging the front door lock of a car belonging to James Cross in Newbury on Thursday, April 21.

No order for costs was made because of Mr Smith's lack of means.

However he was ordered to pay Mr Cross £100 in compensation in lieu of an otherwise statutory victim services surcharge.
