Julian Boswell from Hungerford remanded in custody on stolen goods charge
A MAN who failed to turn up for a court appointment has been remanded in custody.
Julian Boswell appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 23.
The 53-year-old, of Northview, Hungerford, had pleaded guilty to dishonestly undertaking or assisting in retention, removal, disposal or realisation of stolen goods, namely clothing from Blind Maggot in Newbury, on January 6 last year.
He was bailed to go back to court on July 3.
But he did not turn up.
Consequently, at Wednesday’s hearing, he was charged with failing, without reasonable excuse, to surrender to bail at the same court on July 3.
Boswell admitted that offence, too.
Magistrates adjourned sentencing until a later date.
They meanwhile refused to grant bail and remanded Boswell in custody.
