Reading Magistrates' Court: Thatcham man sent to crown court on drug dealing charges
A MAN has been sent to the crown court charged with dealing cocaine and cannabis.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Thursday, February 17, was Mark Chambers.
The 26-year-old of Mount Road, Thatcham, is accused of possessing the Class A- and Class B-controlled drugs with intent to supply them to others in Thatcham between November 1, 2019, and November 2, 2020.
He was told that the case was so serious that magistrates considered their own powers of punishment, in the event of a conviction, could be insufficient.
They therefore declined further jurisdiction and sent the case to Reading Crown Court to be dealt with by a judge and, in the event of a trial, by a jury on a date to be fixed.
Mr Chambers was meanwhile released on unconditional bail.
