Thatcham man Alex Savva caught drug-driving in Newbury

A MOTORIST was caught behind the wheel after taking drugs.

Alex Savva appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 23.

The 30-year-old, of Station Road, Thatcham, admitted driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Winterton Drive, Newbury, on July 8 last year when the amount of the Class B-controlled drug cannabis in his system exceeded the prescribed limit.

Mr Savva, who was legally represented by Alex Granville at the hearing, was fined £133.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £53.

Finally, Mr Savva was banned from driving for 18 months.
