Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury man on weapon charge




A MAN is set to go on trial for possessing an offensive weapon.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Friday, July 15, was Americo Luis.

The 48-year-old, of Reed Walk, Newbury, is accused of having an offensive weapon, namely a Stanley knife, at The Folly in Newbury on May 5 last year.

Mr Luis spoke only to confirm his details and to plead not guilty to the single charge.

He was told the case could proceed no further that day and magistrates adjourned the case for a trial to be arranged.

Mr Luis was meanwhile granted unconditional bail.
