Four arrested in connection with fight where man was stabbed in stomach in Hectors Way, Newbury




A man was stabbed in the stomach during a fight involving four people in Newbury.

The assault took place in Sterling Gardens, Hectors Way, around 6.50pm on Wednesday, May 7.

The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained a wound to his abdomen and received medical treatment at the scene.

A 23-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man, 33-year-old woman and 40 year-year-old man, all from Newbury, have each been arrested on suspicion of affray and released on police bail until July 29.

The 23-year-old woman and the 26-year-old man have also been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Parnell said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed what happened to please contact us.

“I would particularly like to hear from anybody who may have been walking in this area during the altercation.”
