Man taken to hospital after being hit by a young person





The 29-year-old victim was walking alone along Barthlomew Street at around 7.35pm on Sunday, November 17, when a youth ran across the road and struck him on the head, fracturing his cheek bone.
The offender then returned to a group of three other young people and headed in the direction of the St Johns roundabout.
The offender is described as white, 6ft tall, of slight build, with short fair hair.
He was wearing a black jumper with white writing across the chest area, grey jogging trousers and trainers.
Police are treating the incident as assualt resulting in grievous bodily harm.
Det Con Emma Daly, of Newbury Force CID, said: “I would request that the people within the group who were not part of the assault to come forward and speak to police.
“There were a number of vehicles in the area at the time of the assault and I would ask that anyone who was driving nearby at the time of the assault and has any information please call officers.”
