Man threatened with knife in Newbury attempted robbery
Victim escaped uninjured but police appealing for witnesses
A MAN was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery in Newbury.
The 49-year-old victim was approached by two offenders who demanded he hand over his money.
The incident took place between 10.45pm and 11pm on Friday January 22 at the bottom of the steps between the A339 and the canal towpath which leads onto Faraday Road.
Police say the victim managed to get away without injury or surrendering any of his property.
The two offenders are both white men between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins. They were wearing dark coloured hooded tops, one of the tops possibly had a motif on the back. Both of the men spoke with local accents.
