Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury man who assaulted woman refused bail




A MAN who assaulted a woman has been locked up while awaiting sentence.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Friday, October 14, was Thomas Shaw.

The 21-year-old, of Skyllings, Newbury, admitted assaulting Mollie Dyer by beating her in Newbury on Sunday, March 6.

He was also convicted of beating her in Cold Ash on dates between January 1 and January 13.

Furthermore, Mr Shaw admitted causing a mobile phone belonging to Kerry Rolls in Newbury on Sunday, March 6.

Finally, he was convicted of failing to surrender to bail on Thursday, July 28.

District judge Sameul Goozee ordered pre-sentence reports to be prepared on an 'all options' basis, including custody.

He meanwhile refused to grant Mr Shaw bail and remanded him in custody.
