Newbury man who couldn’t afford to keep his car wins new Range Rover Velar in BOTB competition
A Newbury man who was forced to sell his Range Rover because he couldn’t afford it has now won his dream car.
Sam Tull received a Range Rover Velar P400 Dynamic HSE worth £73,000 with a £20,000 cash prize in a BOTB competition.
Mr Tull, who works in a food taste lab, was visited by competition presenter Christian Williams who surprised him while he was at work.
“My heart rate has gone mad,” Mr Tull said.
“I’ve done the competition a few times but never thought I would win.
“It’s a once-in-lifetime achievement.
“I’ve watched videos of the previous winners and always thought why couldn’t that be me?”
He added: “I had an Evoque in 2015.
“I loved that car but couldn’t afford it so I had to downsize. I always wanted to go back.
“Seeing this car in-person, it is even nicer than the pictures.
“The interior of this one is on a different level.
“I’ve also got a better car than the managing director now. I’ll have to park next to him.”
The Range Rover Velar P400 Dynamic HSE features an i6 Turbo engine, 394bhp and top speed of 145mph.
Presenter Christian Williams said: “A huge congratulations to Sam on winning this amazing prize.
“He was clearly in shock as his heart was racing and he couldn’t stop shaking.
“It is a fantastic car with all the bells and whistles, and I am sure he can’t wait to get behind the wheel.”
