Thames Valley Police appealing for witnesses to A339 altercation involving golf club




Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was struck with a golf club and had multiple ribs broken during an altercation near the Robin Hood Roundabout.

The incident of actual bodily harm (ABH) occurred at around 11.45am on Saturday, October 8.

A fight broke out between a driver of a black Vauxhall Astra and the driver of a black Ford Focus on the A339 near the Robin Hood Roundabout.

The driver of the Astra hit the Focus driver with a golf club during the confrontation.

The victim received multiple broken ribs and required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

The offender is described as a white man wearing a black Adidas tracksuit.

Investigating officer PC Matthew Hall, based at Newbury Police Station, said: “We would like to appeal to anybody who may have witnessed this incident or have CCTV or dash-cam footage in the area, to please get in touch.
