Mary Hare sponsored walk

A group of walkers are heading to the New Forest to raise money for Mary Hare's youth club

A GROUP of workers from Mary Hare School are heading off for a sponsored walk in the New Forest today (Friday) to raise money for the school youth club.

The youth club, Coles Diner, is run by the severely and profoundly deaf students as an American diner, with all money made through the sale of food and drink going back into the youth club for wages for workers and prizes for the games and activities for all the students at the school.

As a result, the club needs support to help keep it going and today a group of eight people, including workers and care staff, are heading to the New Forest to take part in a challenge to find as many Geocaches - GPS hidden treasure boxes - as possible over the weekend.

Activities coordinator, Kirilynn Gardner, said the group is hoping to find at least 25 geocaches and cover more than 20 miles over the weekend, while she said the group aims to raise more than £500 to help buy additional seating and more computers for the youth club.
