The recent Modern Masters exhibition at Dreweatts' Donnington Priory salerooms raised £3,410 for the cancer charity UCARE.

Some 150 guests viewed the work of four local artists that had been invited by Dreweatts to exhibit their work. Showcasing their work was The Edward Barnsley Workshop, portrait painter Tom Coates, jeweller Peter Page and sculptor Johannes von Stumm.

Tom Coates had also had brought a selection of pictures from artists from the NEAC: Mary Jackson, Francis Bowyer, Peter Brown, Fred Dubery, Roy Freer, Ken Howard, Richard Pikesley and Toby Ward.

The four artists had also donated works of art for promises which were offered in a silent auction.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Dreweatts deputy chairman Clive Stewart-Lockhart said: “It was lovely to see so many people enjoying the very high standard of exhibits at the same time as helping a very worthwhile cause"
