Mayor leads team to victory in Community Cricket Match

The annual event, organised by the West Berkshire Minority Ethnic Forum, was held at Falkland Cricket Club in Wash Common on September 16.
The match featured cricketers of all abilities who play alongside district and town councillors.
Team captains this year were West Berkshire Council chairman Adrian Edwards (Con, Falkland) and Mr Johnson (Lib-Dem, Newbury).
Spokeswoman for West Berkshire Minority Ethnic Forum, Waheeda Soomro, said: “Organisers were pleased at the turnout of players and families who came to support them.
“They were also delighted to welcome the mayor of Thatcham, John Boyd, who also participated in the game. The match was won by the mayor of Newbury’s team. It was a great atmosphere with wonderful community team spirit.”
