Newbury mayor Gary Norman to host quiz evening fundraiser

The mayor of Newbury is hosting a quiz evening to raise funds for those in financial need within the community.

The event will take place on Friday, September 23, at The Chequers Hotel in Oxford Street, Newbury, and guests are invited to form teams of up to six people to test their knowledge.

Tickets for the evening are priced at £15 per person, and this includes a dinner of either chicken or vegetable curry, cooked and prepared by chefs at the hotel.

The mayor, Gary Norman, said: "I’m really looking forward to this event, which should be a lot of fun.

"It will be an entertaining evening which will be all the better for raising money for charity.

"I would like to thank The Chequers Hotel for hosting this event for us.

"I encourage as many as possible to come and take part.

"How about getting a group of friends or colleagues together for a night out whilst raising money for this great cause?”

All proceeds from the evening will be put into the Mayor’s Benevolent Fund.
