The Mayor of Thatcham, John Boyd held his fundraising event on Friday (April 22) in aid of his chosen charities, Swings & Smiles and Thatcham Cricket Club.

A variety of gifts were on offer from skinny tans and millionaire facials, from salon Studio NK, to South African delicacies and wine, from store Sa Zim.
Mr Boyd said: “With the generosity of Thatcham with the gifts, we raised £140 just from that.”
Additional contributions from ticket sales took the total amount raised up to the £600 mark.
Attendees had the chance to be a part of the Kennet Radio G&T show with DJs Tony Christian, Grahame Pocock and Chris Pearce.
From The Beatles to ABBA, each table got up and had a go at karaoke with Mr Boyd adding: “Everybody said they had a great time.
“The event exceeded my expectations in how much everyone enjoyed it and how much fun they said they had.”
He thanked Aamir Tayeb from the Mecure West Grange Hotel in Midgham for hosting.
He said: “We could have not done it without them. It went well and we had a lot of fun.”
