He will later today sign a new deal that will tie him to the club until the end of the 2014-15, with the full backing of the Thames Sport Investment Ltd consortium that on the brink of taking control of the club.
McDermott's win ratio of close to 50 per cent made him a target for Premier Leagaue Wolves this week, but their hopes of luring McDermott to Molyneux have failed.
