A4 was shut after ‘medical incident’ near to junction 12 of the M4 near Theale

UPDATE: The road has now been reopened.

A ‘medical incident’ has shut part of the A4 this morning (Monday).

The road is closed in both directions from the M4 junction 12 at Theale to Dorking Way, on the Reading side of the motorway.

Around 20 police officers are currently at the scene.

An eyewitness said he could see a lorry on the eastbound carriageway and several cars stopped on the westbound side of the road.

He added that two ambulances were also in the area.

Traffic is now building up on both sides of the closure and on the diversion routes.
