Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust
Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.
Nationwide, the charity currently has 779 dogs that are looking for a family to join.
Every Sunday we turn the spotlight on one of the dogs at the Newbury centre in a bid to spread awareness and help them find a home.
And today we have little Meg to introduce you to.
Meg is a two-year-old French Bulldog who arrived at the centre after being found as a stray.
Those currently looking after her at the centre she can be a little unsure of new people at first, but added: “With a bit of love and patience she soon becomes your best friend.”
Meg is looking for a quiet home with adopters who are willing to help grow her confidence by giving her the time she needs to settle in a new environment.
She cannot live with cats or other small animals but could live with another dog who can cope with her boisterous play style.
She could live with children who are calm and understanding that she can be timid at times.
“An ideal home for Meg would be one with adopters around most of the time, with any leaving built up slowly as she settles,” said the centre.
“She would love a garden to call her own where she can run around to her heart's content.”
This “sweet” girl “loves a cuddle and her ideal home would be one with a sofa, bed or lap she can snuggle up on”.
