Memorial Christmas trees available in Thatcham

Geoffrey Church & Co Funeral Directors are providing the trees to help local people remember their loved ones during the festive season and people are invited to visit the funeral homes and decorate the trees with cards in their memory.
Families may also leave a small donation to charity, which this year is for the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance.
Assistant manager at Geoffrey Church & Co, Lee Pedley, said: “This is the fourth year we have offered memorial trees, as they have always proved to be a great help for relatives, friends and the wide community.
“We know that Christmas and New Year in particular are times when people look back and remember those they have lost and we hope our memorial Christmas trees will again benefit the families concerned at this difficult time.
“We encourage anyone who has suffered a bereavement to come along to one of our funeral homes to collect a memorial tag for our trees or alternatively you may wish to place the tag on your own tree at home. However people wish to remember their loved one over this Christmas time we will be thinking of them all.”
The funeral homes are open daily and people will be able to leave memorial tags on the trees right up until Christmas Eve.
People wishing to make a memorial donation to the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance can visit www.justgiving.com/memorialtrees or this year people can text a donation by sending the word ‘TREE68’ and the amount they wish to donate to 70070 (ie TREE68 £5 ) to donate £5.
