Thames Valley Police has since confirmed there is no Section 60 Order in Newbury at this time.

A Section 60 is a rare order giving police enhanced powers to keep order.

The incidents occurred near the Riverside Community Centre, The Swan pub and Premier Convenience Store, in Shaw, on Monday, May 5.

All the offenders are described as being white, in their mid-20s and around 6ft tall.

One was wearing black cargo trousers, while another was wearing a black wind breaker.

If you believe you were stopped by these men, police are asking that you call 101, quoting reference 43250219755.

And they want to remind people to always ask for identification from anyone who approaches you claiming to be a police officer.

If they refuse to provide you with identification or you have any concerns, then call 999 to verify their identity.
