Charity Time to Talk receives £1,000 donation from David Wilson Homes Southern
West Berkshire charity Time to Talk has received a £1,000 donation from a housebuilding company, writes Kyra Radley.
Hungerford-based David Wilson Homes Southern's donation came as a result of a monthly scheme that gives out to different local charities.
Time to Talk is a mental health charity that provides counselling services for young people aged 11 to 25.
It provides free counselling at Broadway House, The Broadway, Newbury, as well as in local schools and at GP surgeries.
Time to Talk service manager Tammy Willsher said: “We are so grateful that David Wilson Homes has given so generously to our service as it makes such a difference to our charity.
“The work we do is extremely important – around three quarters of diagnosable mental health conditions appear before the age of 24, so early intervention and help is essential for young people to be able to meet their full potential.”
The charity has a service of 30 voluntary and partially paid councillors that works to guide more than 500 children annually.
The average cost of a 12-week programme is £350, so the donation will go towards at least three treatments.

Managing director at David Wilson Homes’ community fund scheme, Campbell Gregg, said: “Time to Talk is an incredible charity and its workers do an incredibly selfless job in providing support for those that need help with their mental health.
“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to contribute towards vital services for young people in need through our Community Fund scheme.”
