WEST BERKSHIRE has been warned to prepare for disruption as winds of around 80mph are predicted to hit the area on Monday.
The Met Office has issued an amber warning for wind for southern parts of the UK and warns that at the same time, persistent, heavy rain could cause some surface water flooding.
It says that at this stage there is uncertainty about the timing and intensity, but warned the public should be prepared for the risk of falling trees as well as damage to buildings and other structures, bringing disruption to transport and power supplies.
It added that there is the potential for gusts of over 80 mph.
