The Met Office has warned that the gusty winds and rain may cause some transport disruption and flooding.

It said there may be gusts of 40mph to 50mph and briefly intense rain, heavy at times.

With saturated ground, this is likely to lead to a fair amount of surface water on roads and flooding in one or two places.

It said there may be spray and flooding on roads, making journey times longer, delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges and possible flooding of a few homes and businesses.
