Midsummer Fayre for John O'Gaunt School

It is the first time the school has staged the event and it features a unique rendition of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, penned and performed by pupils from both John O’Gaunt and Hungerford Primary Schools.
One of the organisers, teacher Devon Hancock, said that anyone attending was invited to “come in costume - either as historical playgoers or as Midsummer characters...come and share a day of whimsical drama and summer fun.
“The community and Parent School Association (PSA) have come together with to turn this into an afternoon full of events, entertainment, and food.
The event will be held from 4pm at the school on Friday, July 18, and a whole host of other attractions have been arranged.
These will include a traditional hog roast and barbecue, Mrs Miggins’ cakes and sweets, displays by Hungerford Allotment Holders’ Association (HAHA), tuf of war, Maypole dancing, archery and bushcraft, falconry, live music, a cash bar featuring a special, local brew from the John O’Gaunt pub, PSA raffle and quiz plus displays by the Town and Manor of Hungerford and Hungerford twinning Association.
