Mini Band make a maxi move to television show





The group, made up of youngsters between the ages of 10 to 13, have been filmed for BBC 1 show, The Slammer.
Set in a fictional prison called HM Slammer, the show follows a variety show format where the “prisoners” (who have been arrested for showbiz-related crimes) compete, by performing to an audience who will decide which act should be released.
As part of their segment, The Mini Band, performed an original number, Fading Truth.
As well as performing their music, the band were also picked to act in the sitcom part of the show, which is set in the prison.
Band manager Leo Westby, said: “They have never acted on a television show before, but they just got on and did it.
“They were very excited because they watch the show and know it very well.
“It’s all very silly and the maddest thing I have ever seen.It’s the third most-watched kids’ television show in Britain.”
The Slammer will air over the summer months.
