Missing woman search turns to Savernake Forest
Police searching the forest for 22-year-old Sian O'Callaghan missing from Swindon since the early hours of Saturday morning
POLICE are currently searching Savernake Forest in the hunt for a missing woman.
Sian O'Callaghan, 22, was last seen leaving Suju nightclub in Swindon, WIltshire, at 2.52am on Saturday morning.
Police enquires have found that Sian's phone, an LG E900 Optimus 7, was turned on in Savernake Forest, five miles west of Hungerford, at 3.24am the same morning.
Teams of specialist officers, police dogs and Wilsar (Wiltshire Search and Rescue) are presently at the forest conducting the search.
Police said they had been inundated with members of the public turning up to help search the forest and late this afternoon (Tuesday) requested that no more volunteers come forward.
An anonymous donor has put up £20,000 for any information that leads directly to Sian O'Callaghan being found.
The 22-year-old is 5ft 3in tall, medium build, brown hair, green eyes. She was wearing a grey dress, black bolero style jacket, dark coloured tights and flat boots and had a dark handbag with a beige flower attached.
Police are appealing for members of the public to contact them immediately if they saw Sian, anyone with her, or any vehicles either after she left Suju or in or near beauty spots between Swindon and Savernake between 3am and 4am.
Police have stressed that any information, no matter how trivial it may seem, could be vital to police enquires.
