Molly the collie appeal - don't it make my brown eyes blue
Dogs Trust Newbury is appealing for a home for Molly, a collie cross who has been overlooked by hundreds of potential new owners.
The one-year-old pooch has been at the rehoming centre for a month, and, despite seeing plenty of her furry counterparts find loving homes, no-one has shown any interest in the quirky canine.
While near-identical sister Holly, who has two brown eyes, has found a new home, staff concluded Molly’s unusual eye is the reason behind her long stay at the Rehoming Centre.
Molly is a happy, healthy dog. Her different eye colours are simply due to less pigment in her blue eye, known as heterochromia in humans, and it doesn’t affect her sight.
Nicki Barrow, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Newbury, said: “It’s baffling as she is a fantastic dog and we think her blue eye makes her look really striking.
“Molly is an affectionate girl who loves nothing more than playing with her carers.
“She is best suited to an adult-only home with a secure garden, ideally in a rural location so she can enjoy plenty of exercise.
“Molly loves company so she would like to find a home with another dog who can act as her doggy guide and help her settle in quickly.”
Anyone who could give Molly a loving home, please contact Dogs Trust Newbury, telephone 0300 303 0292 or pop into the rehoming centre at Plumb’s Farm, Hamstead Marshall.
