Money saving cooking demonstrations in Thatcham today (Fri)

‘Give Food Some Thought’ marks the beginning of the ‘Love Food, Hate Waste’ road shows throughout the district this summer, set up by the West Berkshire Council with Veolia Environmental Services.
Food waste advisors will also be handing out free portion measuring tools at the market and offering their advice on how households can keep food waste to a minimum.
West Berkshire Council's executive member for the Environment, Hilary Cole (Con, Chieveley), said: "We are committed to helping show residents how a little thought can create delicious dinners out of leftover food, and reduce the amount of food thrown away every day.”
General manager for Veolia in West Berkshire, Mark Gray, said: "Our ‘Love Food, Hate Waste’ campaign aims to encourage residents to be more aware of the food thrown away and learn how to put it to a good use instead.
"We can all learn how to save money from our shopping bills.”
The event is on from 8am until 3pm.
