Money stolen in church burglary
Between 2pm on Sunday (December 30) and 10.30am on Monday (December 31) offenders forced entry through the front door of St Catherine’s Church in Wittenham Avenue, Tilehurst.
Once inside they searched the church and unsuccessfully tried to force open a large heavy duty safe with a drill.
It is believed they stole a small amount of petty cash and then left through the rear fire door.
