Monks Lane reopened following serious accident

Fire crews from Hungerford and Newbury were sent to the scene of a two car road traffic collision at 3.18pm.
A spokeswoman for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, Ellie Gray, said that crews used hydraulic equipment to free one person who had become trapped following the accident.
A spokesman for the South Central Ambulance Service, James Keating-Wilkes, said: "We were called to a car versus a stationary car with a female trapped inside the vehicle for over an hour.
"We took said female to Basingstoke hospital with unspecified injuries."
