Thames Valley Police appeal for witnesses after moped rider seriously injured in crash




A moped rider has been left with serious injuries after a road traffic collision with a car.

The Yamaha YBR125 moped and a black Audi A3 collided on the A4 Bath Road on Friday, July 28.

The crash happened at traffic lights on the A4 at the junction with Burghfield Road, at around 8.25pm.

The rider of the moped, a man in his twenties, sustained injuries to his ankle and foot and is currently in hospital receiving treatment.

A 32-year-old man from Reading was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has since been released under investigation.

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses.

Investigating officer of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit PC Jamie Payne said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has information about what happened to please come forward.

“From our initial enquiries, we believe there may have been a white Tesla Model 3 at the scene and we would appeal to the driver to get in touch.”

PC Payne added: “Further, if any motorists were in the area around the time of the collision, please check any dash-cam footage in case it may have captured something that could assist our investigation.
