More new retailers for Newbury
Superdry, Fraser Hart and Johnsons of Windsor have recently signed up to the town's Parkway development
THREE more retailers have recently signed up to Newbury's Parkway development, bringing the project to more than 75 per cent let by area.
Clothing retailer Superdry and jewellers Fraser Hart have joined recent addition Johnsons of Windsor (shoe shop) in confirming for the 475,000 sq ft mixed-use retail and residential project, which is set to open in October with more than 300,000 sq ft of shops and restaurants, 147 new apartments and a 550-space car park.
Superdry will take over a 4,608 sq ft unit in Middle Street, while Fraser Hart will take a 3,000 sq ft unit on the same street, where Johnsons of Windsor will also take a 4,446 sq ft unit.
All three units have been let on 10-year leases, with the three retailers, all of whom are new to Newbury, joining anchor tenants Debenhams and other confirmed stores such as John Lewis at home, H&M, New Look, Topshop, Lakeland, Paperchase, Fat Face, Jones Bootmaker, Barclays and Costa - making the scheme more than 75 per cent let by area.
Head of UK Retail at Parkway developers Standard Life Investments, Ed Jenkins, said: “It is a fantastic achievement to sign three such great retail names to Parkway.
“These lettings will add to Newbury's ever-growing retail mix and will offer shoppers greater variety in the town centre.
“It promises to be a very exciting opening this October.”
