“It was wonderful to welcome both those volunteers joining us for the first time and those who have attended in the past and continue to support us year after year.

“Without them these opportunities would simply not exist for our students.”

The Year 11 Interview Day offered pupils the chance to practice their interview technique through a ‘real-life’ interview with a business representative, who then provided feedback on their performance.

Year 9 pupil Florence said of the event: “It was really interesting to speak to the man who was an architect.

“I really enjoy design, and he gave me lots of advice about what to study and spoke about how he gained qualifications and got started with his own studio.”

The school was also supported by its own alumni throughout both events, including interviewers Hozan Edwards (B2B Technologies), Ellie Evans (AWE), Sabrina Luck (Vodafone), as well as Lois Ryan and Beth Parker (both from Gardner Leader).

Also supporting the Careers Fair were Alex Blake (sales consultant), Jeanette Cheeseman (planner) Tom Cole (cyber security advisor), Jonah Hood (apprentice), Tom Herrington (broadcaster), Melanie Mildenhall (customer service director), Aiden O’Neill (paramedic), Archie Perks (lawyer) and Joe Seward (doctor).
