More than 50 take part in Camps Canter
The 5km event, which took place in Victoria Park on Sunday, is expected to raise thousands of pounds
MORE than 50 people took part in the second annual Camps Canter on Sunday (September 4).
Organised by Camp Hopson, the event took part in Victoria Park and was raising money for the company's charity of the year – Newbury Cancer Care Trust.
Participants had to walk, jog or run 5km and this included staff at the Northbrook Street store, members of the public who had signed up in advance and people who were just in the park.
Personal assistant to the directors, Jenny Banham, said: “We wanted a local charity to support.
“The cancer care trust has been very supportive.
“It is a charity that has touched everybody, we all know somebody who has been affected or someone who has lost their life.
“It is meant to be a fun event and every one did have fun.”
The amount raised will be announced later in the month.
